Full Position Description

Your ROLE (High level):    

Perform and manage all aspects of financial data, systems, and processes, while demonstrating the ability to lead projects and people. Communicate financial and accounting matters both orally and in writing throughout the organization.

Your ROLE (Logistics):

Reporting To: VP of Finance

Where You Work: Hybrid (Washington, D.C.)  

Your Role (Responsibilities):  

•  Partner with the management team to identify and implement value-added financial services.

•  Drive process improvement and automation across the accounting and finance functions.

•  Prepare special reports and financial analyses by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

•  Improves financial status by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, and recommending improvements to management.

•  Develops automated reporting and forecasting tools to increase efficiency and productivity.

•  Document, design, and analyze accounting and business processes to increase efficiency and ensure compliance.  

•  Develop initiatives and policies that could improve financial growth.

•  Support the annual budgeting process and perform monthly actual versus budget financial analysis.  

•  Support month-end close, reporting and consolidation as needed.  

•  Provide guidance as needed to other team members in the finance group.  

•  Work on special projects as requested by the VP of Finance.

What We NEED You to Have:

•  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

•  Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.

•  Strong understanding of business finance and analytics.

•  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

•  Thorough understanding of methods of systems analysis and the principles, design, and procedural methods used in big data analysis.

•  Ability to multitask.

•  Excellent reporting, presentation, and communications skills.  

•  Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

•  Working knowledge of Microsoft Visio or a similar flowcharting application.
