Ms. McKissack is active in myriad civic and building industry organizations—from her role on the Board of Directors of the DC Building Industry Association and Living Classrooms Foundation; to serving on the Board of Trustees for the Miami Art Museum; to her memberships with the Metropolitan Planning Commission in Chicago, National Forum of Black Public Administrators and Construction Management Association of America.
Walter Huber has over 50 years of experience working with the federal government and private sector. During his career, he served as Director, Design and Construction Division for the U.S. General Services Administration, National Capital Region, overseeing a program that had grown to more than $5 billion by the time he retired from his position. At McKissack & McKissack, Mr. Huber provides advice and guidance as to organization, staffing, marketing, quality control, client relations and general project management, which has underpinned the firm’s growth from 42 personnel in 1998 to 150 today.
Sam Condit supervises McKissack & McKissack's Architecture & Interiors division, having started with the organization in 2003 as Executive Vice President and Managing Principal of the Washington, DC office. His professional experience includes master planning, programming, design, contract documents, contract administration during construction, interior design and a variety of feasibility studies. Clients, both national and international, have comprised of local, state and federal governments; corporations; and major institutions. Mr. Condit is an experienced manager and contract negotiator, with emphasis on very detailed scopes of work for professional services, construction and design/build contracts. He has expertise in risk management, dispute resolution and the avoidance of disputes. Prior to McKissack & McKissack, Mr. Condit spent 35 years with Leo A Daly, one of Washington’s premier Architectural and Engineering design firms. For the last 11 years at Daly, he served as the Managing Principal of the Washington, DC office and responsible for four overseas offices.
With over 25 years of investment experience, Eric McKissack is the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Investment Officer and a Founding Principal of Channing Capital Management, LLC, a Chicago-based institutional investment advisory firm. Mr. McKissack was formerly Vice-Chairman and Co-Chief Investment Officer of Ariel Capital Management (now known as Ariel Investments). In that capacity, he served as the portfolio manager responsible for the Ariel Appreciation Fund and various institutional separate accounts. Prior to joining Ariel Capital Management in 1986, he worked for five years as a research analyst for First Chicago and First Chicago Investment Advisors. Mr. McKissack holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Joe Bowen has over 40 years of experience managing complex administrative functions, including finance and accounting, budgeting, facilities management, human resource management, capital projects, contract development and negotiation, real estate and strategic planning. Prior to joining McKissack & McKissack, Mr. Bowen served in various leadership roles at the University System of Maryland, his alma mater, including Senior Manager for the institution’s University College Campus where he was responsible for a $13 million operating budget, $10 million revenue budget and up to $50 million per year in construction and leasing activities.
